You need to have the right amount of tension on your fabric. For all your projects it\u2019s important to have your fabric very tight at all time. So think about checking the tension often. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>L&rsquo;un des secrets les plus importants pour obtenir le meilleur r\u00e9sultat possible en broderie est la fa\u00e7on dont vous allez placer le tissu dans le tambour. Il faut que votre tissu soit le plus tendu possible et ce pendant toute la r\u00e9alisation de votre projet. Pour tous vos projets, except\u00e9s ceux r\u00e9alis\u00e9s sur des tissus \u00e9lastiques, le tissu doit \u00eatre extr\u00eamement tendu. Pensez \u00e0 v\u00e9rifier et corriger la tension du tissu assez r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement. Place the outer hoop over it and use both hands to press it down onto the inner hoop (b). The tension of the fabric should already feel fairly tight. You can now tighten the screw (c) and gently tight the fabric using both hands: one to hold the two hoops together, one to pull the fabric (d). You know your fabric is tight enough when it makes a drum sound (e). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Commencez par desserrer la vis de votre tambour, puis s\u00e9parez les deux cercles. Posez le cercle int\u00e9rieur sur une surface plane, puis posez votre tissu par dessus (a). Posez ensuite le cercle ext\u00e9rieur par dessus (b), vous pouvez utiliser vos deux mains pour le pousser afin que le cercle int\u00e9rieur rentre dans le cercle ext\u00e9rieur (c). Votre tissu devrait d\u00e9j\u00e0 avoir l&rsquo;air d&rsquo;\u00eatre un peu tendu. Vous pouvez maintenant serrer la visse, n&rsquo;h\u00e9sitez pas \u00e0 utiliser une pince si c&rsquo;est trop difficile de le faire avec vos doigts (d). Vous saurez que votre tissu est assez tendu lorsqu&rsquo;il fera un son de tambour quand vous tapotez dessus avec vos doigts (e).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Second step : trace your design &#8211; <em>2\u00e8me \u00e9tape : tracer les contours <\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Now your hoop and printed pattern are ready, you can trace your design on your fabric. You can do what I did in the picture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Maintenant que votre tambour est pr\u00eat et que votre tissu est en place, vous allez pouvoir passer au tra\u00e7age. On the pictures, I am using a Frixion pen, that you can erase with an iron or a hair dryer. For this kind of projects, it\u2019s the best. I recommend to trace your design on the back side of your fabric.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Vous pouvez utiliser n&rsquo;importe quel crayon ou stylo, mais le dessin risque d&rsquo;\u00eatre d\u00e9finitif et peut \u00e9galement traverser le tissu. Dans cet exemple, j&rsquo;utilise un stylo effa\u00e7able Frixion de la marque Pilot. Ce stylo est effa\u00e7able sur papier mais \u00e9galement sur tissu, vous pourrez l&rsquo;enlever avec un fer \u00e0 repasser ou un s\u00e8che-cheveux. It may sounds silly but it\u2019s not. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>L&rsquo;un des aspects les plus difficiles en broderie est de mettre le fil dans l&rsquo;aiguille. \u00c7a peut para\u00eetre dingue mais croyez-moi, ce n&rsquo;est pas si facile.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First you need to learn about embroidery floss. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>D&rsquo;abord il vous faut en apprendre un peu plus sur les fils \u00e0 broder. Un fil comme celui que vous avez dans ce kit est compos\u00e9 de 6 brins. Le fil peut \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 entier ou \u00eatre divis\u00e9. Vous pouvez broder avec autant de brins que vous le d\u00e9sirez. Embroidery needles look the same as sewing needles, except the eye of the needle which is bigger and longer.<br>For my kits I am using DMC embroidery needles. They go from size 1 (big) to size 10 (small). For my kits I picked size 5 (medium). With this needle, you can choose to work with 1, 3 or 6 threads. Threading a size 5 needle with 6 threads is not easy, but if you have the right technic you can do it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Une fois que vous avez choisi le nombre de brins avec lesquels vous d\u00e9sirez broder, choisissez donc votre aiguille. Les aiguilles \u00e0 broder ressemblent \u00e0 des aiguilles de couture, le chat de l&rsquo;aiguille est juste beaucoup plus allong\u00e9. Pour mes kits j\u2019utilise des aiguilles de la marque DMC. Les aiguilles \u00e0 broder vont pour les plus basiques du 1 (les plus grosses) \u00e0 10 (les plus fines). Pour mes kits, j&rsquo;utilise la taille 5 (les aiguilles moyennes). Avec cette taille d&rsquo;aiguille, vous pouvez travailler avec n&rsquo;importe quel fil de 1 \u00e0 6 brins. Enfiler un fil de 6 brins sur une aiguille n\u00b05 n&rsquo;est pas facile mais possible si vous avez la bonne technique.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you are hand sewing, you push the thread through the eye of the needle. With an embroidery needle, it\u2019s not the same. You are going to push the eye of the needle on the floss. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Quand vous utiliser une aiguille pour coudre \u00e0 la main, vous poussez le fil \u00e0 travers le chat de l&rsquo;aiguille. Avec une aiguille \u00e0 broder, c&rsquo;est l&rsquo;inverse. Vous allez pousser le chat de l&rsquo;aiguille sur le fil.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First, cut an arm long section of floss. With very sharp scissors, cut one of the two tails to cut all fluffy tiny threads. Then flatten the floss between the top of your thumb and your index finger. You can now push your needle on it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Commencez par couper une section de fil de la longueur de votre bras. Avec des ciseaux bien aff\u00fbt\u00e9s, coupez l&rsquo;extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 du fil le plus net possible. Ensuite placez cette extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 du fil entre votre pouce et votre index et avec la pulpe de vos doigts, aplatissez le fil au maximum. Of course feel free to use the printed fabric to make another kind of project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Pour ce projet, vous allez utiliser un fil 6 brins multicolor (inclus dans votre kit). Mais si vous pr\u00e9f\u00e9rez r\u00e9aliser un autre type de broderie, libre \u00e0 vous! The satin stitch is very useful if you want to quickly fill an area but also to make big letters or any kind of shapes. As I traced it here, we are going to make an aura around your heroes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Si vous d\u00e9sirez r\u00e9aliser le m\u00eame type de broderie que celui pour lequel le kit a \u00e9t\u00e9 fait, vous allez utiliser le point appel\u00e9 pass\u00e9-plat droit. Ce point est tr\u00e8s utile et est un moyen rapide de remplir de grandes surfaces. Vous pouvez \u00e9galement l&rsquo;utiliser pour broder de grandes lettres par exemple. Pour ce projet, et comme je l&rsquo;ai trac\u00e9, nous allons broder une aura autour de votre h\u00e9ro\u00efne.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can cut a arm long section of thread and make a knot at one of the end of it. Then you can thread your needle. You can now start to make your embroidery. Start from the beginning by making a tiny stitch, then you can make a bigger stitch in parallel, and again and again in order to follow your traced design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Coupez une section de fil de la longueur de votre bras et faites un n\u0153ud \u00e0 l&rsquo;une des extr\u00e9mit\u00e9s. Vous pouvez ensuite enfiler le fil dans l&rsquo;aiguille puis commencer \u00e0 broder. Then you can glue your fabric to the inner hoop (a) with your glue gun, or any other kind of glue. Then fold the fabric on the glue (b). It should look like the picture c.<br> When it\u2019s dry, you can cut all the excess fabric (d) around your hoop with scissors, leaving about a 1\/4 inch of cloth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Il ne vous reste plus que les finitions. Une fois que c&rsquo;est bien sec, vous pouvez venir couper tout le surplus de tissu \u00e0 environ 1 cm du bord (d).
